A COFFEE MORNING in aid of Carlow/Kilkenny Home Care Team will take place in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on this Friday beginning at 10.00 a.m. All are very welcome.

CHARITY MONSTER AUCTION: For information about the auction contact Biddy at 087 – 983190 or Alycia on 087 – 6757490. The Charity Auction in St. Eoghan`s Centre, Kilmoganny will take place on Sunday 30th April at 4.00 p.m.. There is a beautiful collection of assorted items kindly donated by a local person. Viewing in St. Eoghan`s Centre, Kilmoganny on Friday 28th April from 12.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. and on Saturday from 11.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. and on Sunday morning from 12.00 noon to 2.00 p.m. Further donations of quality items would be welcome. Proceeds will go to St. Joseph’s Home, Kilmoganny and to the Kilmoganny GAA Field. The day concludes with a Cabaret in Dunphy’s Lounge with music by Gerry Walsh and Dallas.


 KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the Juvenile 40 x 20 championships representing Kells in the Girls U 12 B singles was Sarah Condon who was defeated in the semi-final; in the Girls U 13/14 B singles were Nadine Brennan and Rachel Doherty and Rachel won out in the Final; in the Girls U 15/16 B singles Laura Condon defeated Niamh Hogan (Windgap) in the final.  Congratulations and well done to all the Kells girls.  In the Adult County 40 x 20 championships in the Intermediate Singles Dan Breen (Kells) lost out to Sean Foley (Windgap) and Anthony Martin (Kells) gave a walkover due to injury to Brian Mahon (Clogh); in the Junior B Singles Michael Power (Kells) lost out in the semi-final to Darren Walsh (Windgap) and in the Junior Singles C.J. Delaney (Kells) defeated Ciaran Cooney (Clogh); in the Minor Singles Eoin Brennan (Kells) got a walkover from Robert Dowling (Mothel) and Conor Condon (Kells) lost out to Ciaran Cooney (Clogh) in two close games; in the Senior Singles Final Peter Funchion (Kells) defeated Patrick Funchion (Kells).


In the Adult Leinster 40 x 20 championships in the Junior B Doubles semi-final    Diarmuid Burke/Anthony Martin (Kells) defeated Eamonn Hawe/Sean Foley (Windgap) but unfortunately lost out to Rob Farrelly/Jonathan Westlake (Dublin) in the tie break in the Leinster Final.


 


THE PAT WALSH MEMORIAL COMMITTEE will meet on Tuesday 11th April in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan so as to finalise arrangements for the Easter Sunday Parade which will take place after 11.00 a.m. mass in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan.


 


HOLY WEEK CEREMONIES will take place in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny at 7.00 p.m. on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday. The ceremonies will take place in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan at 8.00 p.m. on Holy Saturday, 3.00 p.m. on Good Friday and at 9.00 p.m. on Holy Saturday. The penitential service, sacrament of reconciliation, will take place as part of the Good Friday celebrations. 


 


OPEN MIC NIGHT will take place in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on this Thursday at 7.30 p.m. It is an evening of singing, music, story-telling etc. If you wish to take part contact Alva on 085 – 8641378. All are very welcome to attend. 


 


GOLF LESSONS: Beginners golf lessons are starting in Callan Golf Club. The eight week programme is for only €50 including lessons with PGA professional Brian Doheny. Registration will take place on 25th April at 7.00 p.m. Lessons will commence on 2nd May. KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of Wednesday 29th March were: Joint First1st Emer Wallace & Carmel O’Sullivan and Kathleen O’Shea & Mary Lonergan; 3rd: Nelli8e Lahart6 & Margaret O’Shea . Bridge takes place each Wednesday at 8.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. Visitors are always welcome and partners will be provided if necessary.
