KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of Wednesday 13th June were: 1st Nellie Lahart & Breda Butler, 2nd: Philip Brennan & Ger; 3rd: Paschal Grace & Ellen Delahunty. Bridge continues in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on Wednesday nights throughout the summer at 8.00 p.m. Visitors are always welcome and partners will be provided for any visitors.


 


KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: Kells Handball Club participated in Feile naGael in Galway on 16th June 2018. The team of Harry Delaney, Emmet Nolan, Niall Shortall, Joseph Prendergast, Cathal Buckley and John Hayes competed in Division 1 40 x 20.  They competed against Galmoy, Kilkenny, Abbeyknockmoy Co Galway, Loughmacrory Co. Tyrone and   Brackey, Tyrone. The result of the games: Kells v Galmoy 6-21, 13-9, Kells v Brackey, 15-14, 6-21, Kells v Abbeyknockmoy 21-5, 1-21, Kells v Loughmacrory 21-11, 4-21, which gave Kells 4 points to go into the Division 1 Plate Final.  In the Plate Final it was Kells v Loughmacrory and Kells won 21-5 7-21 and a count back of aces Kells won 28 – 26 aces to win their hard earned 3rd place and receive their bronze medals.  The trip to Galway resulted in a very long day in the alley from 9.00 a.m. – 11.00 p.m.but a very worthwhile trip.  A huge congratulation to all the players, their parents, mentors and coaches on a very successful Feile 2018. OPEN MIC NIGHT The June Open Mic is on Thursday 21 June at St Eoghan's Community Centre Kilmoganny at 8.00 p.m.. All are welcome. Please contact Alva on 0858641378 if you'd like to sing a song, recite a story or poem, or play an instrument. 


 


SWIMMING SUCCESS: Congratulations to Ruaidhrí Holden on winning the gold medal in the U-14 Leinster Division 2,  200 metre Breaststroke Race at the Leinster Long Course swimming championships in the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin on June 2nd. Having won his gold medal on Saturday he travelled back to Dublin to the NAC for day two on Sunday and won Bronze medals in the Division 2 100 metre Freestyle and the 100 meters Breaststroke events having raced in the 5 0metre Division 1 Freestyle Sprint earlier in the weekend. Well done Ruaidhrí. His sister Bláihhín was a member of the Kilkenny U 13 Girls 4 X 100 meters relay team which won Bronze medals at the recent Leinster championships in Tullamore.
