Dunnamaggin LGFC - The excitement is building for the last weekend in June (28th to 30th) when the Dunnamaggin Lgfc U14 Féile team travel to Galway and our hosts Mountbellew Moylough Ladies Football, to represent Kilkenny and take part in Division 5 of Féile Peil na nÓg.
Just to give an idea of the scale of the event:-

There are 358 sides taking part, comprising of 23 divisions -13 boys and 10 girls, with 16 teams in all but one division.

There will be 851 games played from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening with each county in Connacht hosting teams. 8,500 under 14 boys and girls will be in action over the weekend with a further 1500 mentors in charge of the 358 teams.

There are teams competing from the four provinces with overseas guests including sides from England, Scotland, The United States and for the first time from Western Australia.

This is a huge occasion, as it's the first time the club has represented Kilkenny and taken part in Féile. Over the coming weeks the girls will be fundraising to cover cost of the trip and we hope that everyone will get behind them in their endeavours.

We would like to thank all of those who support our recent cake sale which was a huge success.

Our next Feile fundraiser is a used clothes collection, so please get as many bags together as you can (from family and friends) to help support the team.

Bags of Clothes can be dropped off to Dunnamaggin GAA club on the following dates / times.

Friday May 17th between 7:00 & 8:00pm
Saturday May 18th between 7.00 & 8.00pm
Sunday May 19th between 11:00 & 12:00pm

World Bee Day 20th May 2019
Did you know that Ireland has 98 different types of Bee, 1 type of Honeybee, 20 types of Bumblebee and 77 types of Solitary bee. These insects are vital pollinators for our crops and wild plants.
The United Nations has dedicated 20th May annually to World Bee day. The association draws the public’s attention to the essential role that pollinators such as bees play within our environment, while helping to promote actions that protect and enhance pollinators and their habitats, improve their abundance and diversity and support sustainable development for bee keeping. Information on actions to encourage bee populations on farms can be found on our website http://www.BiodiversityIreland.ie
