Kells Handball Club Report to September 22nd 2019 In the Juvenile County 60 x 30 tournament in BU10 Singles Matthew Corr (Kells) defeated Con Fenton (Glenmore) but was defeated by Joe Dowling (Talbots Inch) who was the eventual runner up and Lorcan Mahony (Kells) was defeated by Cian Murphy (Kilfane); in BU11 Singles Darragh Lyons (Kells) was defeated by Rian Dowling (Talbots Inch) who was the runner up and Daniel Darwick (Kells) was defeated by Andrew Brennan (Talbots Inch) who was the eventual winner; in GU10 singles Shauna Hayes (Kells) came through and defeated Niamh Drennan (Galmoy) in two games in the Final. Congratulations and well done to you all. In the All Ireland semi final of U21 Doubles Eoin Brennan/Conor Murphy (Kells) lost out to Evan Murphy/Nigel O’Callaghan (Limerick) 21-10, 21-12.

Public Meeting 'A Vision for Dunnamaggin Parish' facilitated by Kilkenny LEADER Partnership will take place in The Old School, Dunnamaggin on Tuesday September 24th at 7.30pm. Please come along with ideas on how you see Dunnamaggin Parish develop and thrive in the future. The meeting is open to the public, individuals of all ages from all parts of the parish are encourage to come along and have their say. From this meeting a 5 year draft plan for the future development of Dunnamaggin will be complied.


The Dunnamaggin Juvenile GAA club are hosting a Fundraising Table Quiz on Sat 28th Sept @ 9pm in Townsends Bar please support.€10 per person or table of four €40.


Community Spirit Award: Dunnamaggin Parish Development Group will present the inaugural Community Spirit Award to someone from the parish. It will take place at the next Community Gathering after mass on September 29th in The Old School, Dunnamaggin. Come along and celebrate with us.

The Mooncoin Vintage Club is holding a vintage tractor run in aid of St. Joseph’s Home, Kilmoganny on Sunday the 29th of September. €20 entry. Vintage cars and motorbikes also welcome to participate. Registration from 11am at Piltown GAA grounds. Leaving for Kilmoganny at 12.30pm. Followed by refreshments, music and a raffle at Dunphy’s Lounge. Wear Amber to back Amber Women's Refuge for their inaugural 5K family fun run which takes place on Sunday, September 29th at the Castle Park 11am start. Entry for adults is €15 and €5 for children, dogs on leads are welcome. This is for all the family, please get everyone out for some exercise and fresh air in the beautiful Castle park. Warm up provided by Paul Nolan Fitness trainer. Refreshments will be provided. Registration online at Eventbrite or on the morning from 10am at the side gate by Bennetsbridge road to the Castle Park

Bookville Kilkenny 2019 The 2019 festival will take place from the 7th to the 14th of October. It is promising to be bigger and better than last year and the events are FREE! This year, 22 participants including authors, illustrators, clowns, artists mindfulness teachers and even an astronaut will showcase events for families and children from 0 -12yrs throughout the county. Brochures are from all County Libraries. Please note, bookings will be taken from 10am on Tuesday 17th September.


All public event bookings are taken on a first come, first served basis. School bookings will be managed by local library.
