Kells Handball ClubClub Report to December 15th 2019: Kells Handball Club would like to thank the Kilkenny, Carlow, Laois County Boards for organizing the Juvenile Coaching Squads and all the coaches, especially Brendan Burke (Kells) and Frank Manogue (Kells), for their expertise and time to the groups. The Kells participants thoroughly enjoyed it. "Baby Massage Classes available in the GAA hall in Hugginstown every Tuesday from the 7th of January to the 4th of February from 10am to 11.30am. Classes include teaching parents the different massage strokes and a theory section each week ranging from child development, oils used in massage and much more. Tea/coffee cake and chats afterwards. Droichead Family Resource Centre: If you have a little person at home with you why not join us at Droichead Family Resource Centre (Old CBS, West St, Callan) on a Monday morning. The toddler group is at 9.30am and Baby group is at 11am. It’s a great chance for you and your little person to socialise. Drop in weekly. Restarts on 6th January 2020.


Our after schools programme at Droichead Family Resource Centre has had a great autumn with lots of fun activities including 4 weeks of cookery classes and 6 weeks of drama with Susan Reid of Troopers. There are places available for the new year. Working families can get financial support through the new National Childcare Scheme. Droichead After Schools is available until 6pm. On Friday 6th December we hosted our annual over 60's Christmas Dinner. We all had a delicious dinner and great entertainment from The Highway Men. The day would not have been possible without our sponsors and volunteers. St. Joseph’s Home, Kilmoganny will host a coffee morning at on the 19th of December at 11 AM. Entry fee is €5 and there will be a raffle on the day. Proceeds to St. Josephs Home. All are welcome.


'Take it or Leave it' Kilmoganny's Free shop extended opening. Due to popularity and success Kilmoganny's Free Shop 'Take it or Leave it' 'Fabulous and Free', will be open for an extra week. It will now close at 1.00pm Friday 20th December. The opening times are Monday to Friday 10.00am to 1.00pm and 6.30pm to 8.00pm. Donations of good quality goods welcome. No large plastic childrens toys as these are difficult to recycle if they are not taken.



Kilkenny County Council are hosting a Careers Event on Saturday 28th December in The Medieval Mile Museum. The event will provide the ultimate networking platform for employees looking for a new career in Kilkenny, offering a wide variety of different roles to suit various skills, experience and educational backgrounds, with 20 of Kilkenny’s top companies in attendance on the day, with over 500 jobs on offer. This event is aimed at employees who will be in Kilkenny for the Christmas period and are looking for new opportunities to relocate to Kilkenny in 2020. A planned marketing initiative commenced yesterday and will run up to 28th December and will target potential employees through Social Media – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn, Radio and Newspaper advertising.
