Dunnamaggin Development Groups monthly market took place last Sunday. The 6th Kells Scout troop cooked up a storm at the BBQ to raise funds for their activities. As usual the sun shone in Madges Garden, new stall holders arrived and set up alongside the regulars. The Café was opened once again, and children's activities were held. The newly opened Sli na nAingeal attracted new visitors to its magical walkway. And Ray opened his doors after a long Covid closure for thirst quenching outside pints. Another fabulous day. Thanks to all who supported. Watch the Facebook page for updates on what's happening - Dunnamaggin Community News.

Dunnamaggin GAA Work has started on the clubs next development plan with both walkways around the GAA pitches in Dunnamaggin and Kilmoganny now being completed in only a few days. This was a massive undertaking for a small country club and massive thanks to all who volunteered over the few days. The work included stripping the soil from the perimeter of both pitches, laying ducting for lighting in future and relaying 3 types of stone to finish. Thank you to all who sponsored a load of stone, machinery, volunteered their time, kept the crews refreshed and fed or helped in any way to make this happen in such a short space of time. It looks super.

Mower the merrier - 10 year anniversary Just over 10 years ago on 24th July 2011 the GAA club undertook one of the largest ever one day fundraisers. It was called 'Mower the Merrier' and its aim was to break a Gunness world record for the largest number of ride-on lawnmowers working simultaneously. The weather was good to us and after months of planning the day was an unbelievable success with 696 mowers on the day participating which smashed the record previously held. The years have flown but the day is still talked about and fondly remembered.
