KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: Wednesday December 14th was prize night in Kilmoganny Bridge Club. Each member received a prize.  The top finishers were:: 1st : Jackie Kenneally & Rita Townsend; Joint 2nd; Eileen Grace & Therese Walsh and Pascal Grace & Ellen Delahunty; Joint 4th: Moira Hickey & Nelly Lahart and Kathleen Kelly & Peadar Kelly.  Bridge takes place as usual on t6his Wednesday 28th December at 8.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. Visitors are always welcome and it is not necessary to have a partner as one will be provided on the night.

KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the County 40 x 20 League in Division 1(A) Patrick Funchion (Kells) received a walkover from Daniel Love (Clogh) and defeated Nicholas Anthony (Mullinavat);  Brendan Burke (Kells) defeated Nicholas Anthony (Mullinavat) and received a walkover from Daniel Love (Clogh); in Division 1(B) Peter Funchion (Kells) received a walkover from William Love (Clogh) and a walkover from Shane Dunne (Clogh); in the Minor Singles Conor Condon (Kells) received a walkover from David Duggan (Mullinavat) and a walkover from Eoin Regan (Clogh);  Eoin Brennan (Kells) defeated Sean Fitzpatrick (Mullinavat) and got a walkover from Ciaran Cooney (Clogh); in Division 2(B) Anthony Martin (Kells) defeated Dylan Caulfield (Kilfane) and got a walkover from Eamonn Hawe (Windgap); C.J. Delaney (Kells) gave a walkover to Eamonn Hawe (Windgap) and got a walkover from Eoin Brannigan (O’Loughlin’s); Frank Manogue (Kells) defeated Eoin Brannigan (O’Loughlin’s) and got a walkover from Eamonn Hawe (Windgap); in Division 3 Colin McKenna (Kells) received a walkover from Darren Walsh (Windgap) and lost out to Wesley Smyth (Windgap); Michael Power (Kells) defeated Michael Power (Windgap) and defeated Colin McKenna (Kells); Kevin Murray lost out to Lee Quinn (Windgap) and Wesley Smyth (Windgap); in the Masters 3(A) Paddy Fennelly (Kells) defeated Tom Hynes (Kilfane) and lost out to Simon Walsh (Windgap). Kells Handball Club would like to wish all our members a very Happy Christmas and a successful handball year in 2017.


 


CHRISTMAS RAFFLE WINNERS: The lucky winners of prizes in the draw which was held in St. Eoghan’s Centre on last Saturday evening was 1st Prize of €800 P. J. Dawson, Monassa; 2nd of €300 Hugh, MacEneany and 3rd of a hamper, Emer Moylan, Caherleske.  Matt Doran, thanked all who contributed to the raffle and he thanks Loraine Moore for the tremendous work she did in organising the raffle. In all about €3,172 was raised towards the cost of a lawnmower for the new field in Kilmoganny.


 


CHRISTMAS NIGHT CARDS: The Annual Christmas Night Progressive 25’s card game will be held in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on Christmas night at 8.00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to this event.


 


DRAMA IN KILMOGANNY; The next drama I to be staged by the Shrughawadda Players in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny from Tuesday 24 – Friday 27th January 2017 is a comedy by Bernard Farrell called “Kevin’s Bed”.  Tickets are available from Jackie Kenneally P.O., 051- 648001, Pete Moran 051 – 648283 or Maura Dunphy 051 – 648252.


 


CHRISTMAS MASS TIMES at as follows: On Christmas Eve; in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny at 7.00 p.m. and in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan at 9.00 p.m.;  On Christmas Day in St. Eoghan’s Church at 9.30a.m. and at 11.00 a.m. in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan.


 


DUNAMAGGAN JUVINILE GAA CLUB will hold its AGM on Friday January 6th at 8.00 p.m. in Sty. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan. All parents and those interested in Juvenile GAA are invited to attend.


 


THANKS: Tom and Annette Hickey would like to thank everyone who supported them recently in their fundraising campaign. A cheque for €17,740.59 was presented to John Foley from the Conor Foley Neuroblastoma Cancer Research Foundation. Tom stated “This was a fantastic amount and greatly surpassed what we imagined raising.”
