Kells Handball Club Report to 17th March 2019


 In the Juvenile All Ireland 40 x 20 semi final in Boys U14 Singles Joseph Prendergast (Kells) was defeated by Hayden Supple (Cork) and the BU15 Doubles Harry Delaney (Kells) and David Sherman (Galmoy) defeated Charlie Treen/Sean Callaghan (Waterford) 15-13 15-11.


 


In the first round of the Men’s Open Senior Singles Patrick Funchion (Kells) travelled to Kells Co. Meath, and defeated Shane O’Neill (Tyrone) 21-5 21-13.  Peter Funchion (Kells) also travelled to Kells, Co. Meath and received a walkover from Vinnie Moran (Mayo). The next round was played in Cullohill, Co. Laois and Patrick defeated Colin Crehan (Clare) 21-14 21-10 and Peter defeated Brendan Fleming (Cork) 21-17 21-8.  In the quarter finals played in Ballymore Eustace, Co. Kildare, Patrick received a walkover from Charlie Shanks (Antrim) and Peter was defeated by Robbie McCarthy (Westmeath). Congratulations and very well done to you all.

 'Keeping it Delightful' Coffee Morning and recycle event takes place on Tuesday 26th March 10.30 am to 1.00pm in St Eoghans  Centre, Kilmoganny. Spring is an excellent time for clearing drawers, presses, shelves, nooks and crannies, and sorting out past treasures which are no longer needed. All delightful items and their owners will be welcome at the recycling morning.  


CONGRATULATIONS: to neighbours Ballyhale Shamrocks All Ireland senior hurling club champions.  Brilliant to have second South Kilkenny GAA club join Dunnamaggin in bringing home an All Ireland Club trophy
