Weekly News 28th Sept 2020

28 September 2020

NOTHING MINOR ABOUT THIS WIN! On Sunday 20th September, Dunnamaggin Ladies Football Minor squad took on and defeated Railyard in the St. Canice’s Credit Union Roinn B Championship Final. It was a thrilling encounter and the intensity level was high. The Dunnamaggin squad had much of the possession for the game but this wasn’t translating on the scoreboard. Railyard took their chances when presented to them and with only a minute to go were a point ahead.
Just before the final whistle the Dunnamaggin side set up a great attack and were rewarded with a point leaving the sides level at full time. With waning daylight the teams had to play the 20 minutes extra time under lights.
Both teams continued to play with a superb fighting spirit but it was the Dunnamaggin side that would clinch the victory by three points. Big congratulations to all the players and management team on a great 2020 season despite everything.
