KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of Wednesday October 13th were: 1st: Rita Townsend & Jackie Kenneally; 2nd: Paul Tomsett & David Sutton; 3rd: Nellie O’Shea & Josie O’Gorman. Bridge takes place each Wednesday at 8.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. Visitors are always welcome and it is not necessary to have a partner as one will be provided on the night.

REIGN OF TERROR 5 km and 10 km challenges take place on this Saturday in Kells. Over 500 competitors have entered for this spectacular event along by the Kings River and it also involves crossing the river. The natural dulation of the course should enable spectators to view the entire event from suitable vantage points. Saturday morning will be a very busy morning in Kells as competitors will be arriving from around 9.00 a.m. Competitors and members of the public, who wish to view the event, are asked to follow the directions of stewards to suitable parking locations and to suitable observation places. It is expected that over 1,000 visitors will be in Kells next Saturday. The event should be underway after 10.00 a.m.


 


CHARITY WALK: St. Eoghan's N.S. will hold a 'Walk a Marathon' event on Thursday, October 27th. The 26 children in the school will walk a mile each. They will leave the school at 1.30 and walk around the village of Kilmoganny. When the walk is completed there will be a Cake Sale at the school. Anyone who wishes is very welcome to participate in the walk and/or contribute to the Cake Sale. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Any money raised will go towards the Neuroblastoma Cancer Research.


 


KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the County 60 x 30 Adult championship in the Intermediate Singles Anthony Martin (Kells) defeated Mick Conville (St Patricks); in the Intermediate Doubles C. J. Delaney/Conor Condon (Kells) were defeated by Shane Dunne/Padraig Cooney (Clogh) and Anthony Martin/Diarmuid Burke (Kells) received a walkover from Joe Daly/Eoin Brannigan (O’Loughlin’s).


The 60 x 30 Juvenile Kilkenny U 12/13 Team of 6 defeated Wexford in the Leinster Final.  The team consists of Padraig Lennon (Kells), Sean Purcell, Sean Barron (Windgap), Billy Drennan, David Sherman (Galmoy), Kyle Jordan, Cillian Kelly and Conor Holden (Kilfane).


In the 60 x 30 All Ireland Juvenile Semi Final, in the Boys U 16 Singles, Eoin Brennan (Kells) was defeated by Dara Keane (Kerry) 11 – 9 in the 3rd game. Hard luck but very well done on reaching the semi-final.
