u21 Semifinal

17/11/2012
The U21 Hurlers progressed to the southern final of their championship by beating Tullogher Rosbercon in Kilmacow on Saturday in a closely fought game. Dunnamaggin led at half time by the minimum 1:7 to 1:6 with Peter Kenneally scoring the goal after a fine solo from halfway. The game continued to be a tight affair and seemed to be going Tullogher’s way in the closing stages as they led by two. However, Eoghan Kearney found the back of the net in the dying minutes to put Dunnamaggin 1 point ahead. Peter Kenneally won the resulting puck out and put it straight over the bar to leave Dunnamaggin winners by two points. There were many great performances from the Dunnamaggin players with Peter Kenneally having a great game in midfield while marking Senior inter-county player Walter Walsh. The Defence was very strong being led by William Phelan, and the work rate of the forwards was evident throughout. They now face Kilmacow in the Southern Final.
