Senior Footballers Vs Railyard

THE KILMOGANNY SENIOR FOOTBALLERS MADE A WINNING START TO THE SEASON by defeating the Railyard on a score-line of Kilmoganny 3 – 5 to Railyard 1 – 8 on a sunny Saturday afternoon in St. James’s Park, Kilkenny.
The first half was a low scoring affair with Railyard registering 0 -4 and Kilmoganny having a single score from Captain Kenny Moore but it was a well taken goal. This left the minimum between the sided at half time. Railyard 0 - 4 to Kilmoganny1 – 0.
Kilmoganny told control in the second half and goals from Darren Fitzpatrick and Paddy Delaney helped Kilmoganny to a comfortable lead. Railyard fought back and got a goal in last 5 minutes to close the gap but Kilmoganny hung on to win by 3 points. In all five of the Kilmoganny forwards scored. Overall it was a great team effort. Next weekend the opponents are Mullinavat who will be very anxious to register a win as they suffered a defeat to Dicksboro last weekend.
