U16 Hurling League Vs St.Lachtains

The U16 Hurlers took on St.Lachtain’s in Dunnamaggin on Friday evening. Dunnamaggin opened the scoring with a well taken point from Christopher Keane. Then followed a period of free flowing hurling from St.Lachtain’s, which saw them score eight points in the first 10 mins. Robbie McCauley then got on the score sheet with a well taken point, but St.Lachtain’s responded with two of their own. Conor Fennelly they pointed a free just before half time before St.Lachtain’s finished off the first half scoring with two more points. Half time Dunnamaggin 0-3 St.Lachtain’s 0-12. Dunnamaggin restarted the second half really well with Michael Cody scoring two frees and Victor Costello pointing from play. St.Lachtain’s responded indeiately with a goal and a point before Conor Fennelly pointed. Dunnamaggin continued to play well when in possession and their work rate was very good but scores eluded them. St.Lachtain’s scored another four points before Victor Costello forced an excellent save from the keeper. The scoreboard eventually was added to for Dunnamaggin following all the effort with good points from Conor Fennelly and two from Michael Cody who anchored the defence throughout. It was St.Lachtain’s who finished the scoring with two additional points. Full time Dunnamaggin 0-9 St.Lachtain’s 1-19.
