U16 HC 1st Round Vs St Martins - Tuesday 19th August 7pm. Venue James Stephens, Kells Road
This game began at a frantic pace, as within a minute St Martins got the the scoreboard moving with a point. Dunnamaggin didn't settle for this and two minutes later, Roy Cullen showed what the Dunna boys could do and buried one in the net. This momentum continued over the next five minutes with points from Morgan Thomas (2) and Roy Cullen. St Martins came back in the thirteenth minute with a second point from a free, a score which was to be their last score in the first half.
Morgan continued his scoring spree in the fourteenth minute with a cracking goal, the ball being fed to him from a great run by Adam Fitzpatrick.
St Martins made a further attempt but were denied by the goalkeeping skills of Shane Ivory-Corr. A free in their favour a moment later was also to no avail with the ball shooting wide of the upright.
Morgan scored another point from a free, bringing the score to 2-04 to 0-2. This was followed by a shot at goal by Roy Cullen which rebounded off the post, denying him his second goal. However Luke Fitzpatrick corrected this injustice in the nineteenth minute burying the ball in the back of the net. Rory Lodge got the next point and, within two minutes of his last goal, following a pass from Morgan Thomas, Luke Fitzpatrick gave Dunnamaggin their fourth goal. Two more points from Adam Fitzpatrick and Morgan Thomas brought the game to half time.

However, during the same time, St Martins scored eight points of their own, five from play and three from frees. Dunnamaggin made their next change, with Conor Lawlor coming on for Adam Fitzpatrick.
