U14 Hurling Shield Semi Final
The Dunnamaggin U14 bowed out of the shield on Sunday morning vs St.Lachtain’s in Freshford. St.Lachtain’s we’re first off the mark with a point but Nicky O’Shea, Eddie Dunne and Luke Fitzpatrick responded well for Dunnamaggin with points. St.Lachtain’s then replied with a goal and a point. Dunnamaggin were awarded a penalty which Conor Lawlor duly converted. Daragh O’Keeffe added to the scoreboard with a point in what was turning out to be a very tight game with good play from both sides. Dunnamaggin 1-4 St.Lachtain’s 1-3 at half time.
St.Lachtain’s were first to score in the second half when they found the net from a 65. Killian Lafford did respond with a point. St.Lachtain’s then pointed twice more to keep the advantage. Nicky O’Shea made way for Jamie Mcloughlin who was returning to play after a bad hand injury. Luke Fitz pointed to try to close the gap but it was to be Dunnamaggin’s last score. St.Lachtain’s found the net after a long run and also added a further point in a strong finish in the last 5 minutes to cement their win. Full Time Dunnamaggin 1-6 St.Lachtain’s 3-6
